When you put a hazardous material into a container, you are required by OSHA to label that container. Right-to-Know labels help increase understanding of the hazard and increase safety compliance. Originally developed for firemen, the fire diamond, for example instantly conveys the emergency information that a fireman needed in case of a fire. Other label designs show the chemical's handling, target organ effects and emergency instructions. These labels are easy to fill-out and help warn EMS personnel in case of an accident or emergency. |
